Items to Review
  • Will your original lessor allow a transfer?
  • Are there any fees from the original lessor for the transfer?
  • What is your monthly payment and the remaining term on your lease?
  • How many kilometers has your vehicle traveled and how many kilometers are you allowed in total?
  • What is your residual value upon termination?
  • Are you still liable for the lease after the transfer?
  • Do you know your current payout?
  • Who can payout the vehicle early? Is there an administration fee associated with paying out the lease before termination?
  • Can O'Regan's (a dealer) pay out your lease?
  • Do you have all of the necessary paperwork? (Lease agreements, extended warranties, recall notices)?
  • Is there any broken glass (windshield, mirrors)?
  • Is your vehicle clean and all dents and scrapes repaired?
  • What repairs need to be done?
  • Has service been done regularly and do you have the records?
  • Are you prepared to pay for an E-Test if required?
The Process of Transferring Your Vehicle's Lease

We can work with you every step of the way to get your vehicle listed. It is helpful if you can fill out as much of the registration form as you can before we meet to view your vehicle and finalize your details.

  1. Create an account so you can go online at any time to review the number of views your listing is generating and you can email us with any changes to your vehicle.

  2. Fill out as much of the Seller Registration form as you can.

  3. We will then contact you to arrange a time to meet and confirm your listing details, take a photo of your vehicle and receive your registration fee. You will need to also bring your original lease document & vehicle registration.

  4. When we have a potential buyer to takeover your lease, we'll contact you so that you can arrange to meet with them and finalize the transfer.

  5. Once all the details of your transfer are completed... walk away with a smile!

The Registration Fee

O'Regan's Lease Exchange charges $299.00 plus applicable taxes for registering your vehicle on our website. This fee is collected after you have made an appointment and we have gone over your lease agreement and your vehicle to your satisfaction. You are under no obligation to pay or sign until you decide that this is what you want to do.

Our fee is an all-inclusive charge that covers the cost of using O'Regan's Lease Exchange, which is heavily advertised as the Halifax regions’ exclusive lease transfer network. We also personally monitor the enquiries on your vehicle while it is listed for a 60 day period.

If, after 60 days, we’ve been unable to put together a successful lease transfer for your vehicle we will give you a refund of $100. You can then either:

  • accept the refund, or
  • extend your listing at no further charge until your vehicle is gone (providing you supply us with updated vehicle information every 60 days, including verifying that your lease payments are not in arrears).

In order to receive your refund you will be required to present your registration.

In the event that you choose to withdraw from O'Regan ’s Lease Exchange for any reason or you dispose of your vehicle in another manner during the sixty day period your refund will be forfeited.
